Module 1: How? Implementing Peer Education in Gender Equality Projects
The first module introduces the core concepts of peer education, focusing on its application in gender equality projects. Participants will learn about the benefits of peer education, including how to structure sessions, manage group dynamics, and use conflict resolution strategies. This module is foundational in helping professionals create an interactive and supportive learning environment where young people can collaborate and lead their own learning process.
Module 2: Promoting Gender Equality: Concepts, Perspectives, and Practical Tools from the No Da Igual Project
In this module, learners will explore gender equality in-depth, including societal constructs around gender roles, stereotypes, and intersectionality. Through a detailed introduction to the ‘Guide for Changemakers,’ participants will access practical activities and tools to work on gender equality with youth. This module covers crucial topics like gender-based violence, aesthetic violence, and microaggressions, providing a strong foundation for understanding and challenging the root causes of gender inequality.
Module 3: Supporting the Process of Change: The Role of Coaching
This module emphasizes the critical role of coaches in guiding young people through their journey to becoming agents of change. Participants will explore coaching strategies tailored to youth, focusing on creating safe, non-paternalistic environments where young people can thrive. Practical examples from the No Da Igual project will highlight the importance of building trust, offering support, and empowering young people to take charge of their development and the fight for gender equality.
Module 4: Gender Mainstreaming in Youth Work: Best Practices, Safe Participation, and Effective Evaluation
The final module offers a comprehensive guide to gender mainstreaming in educational settings, providing best practices for ensuring safe, inclusive participation. Participants will learn how to evaluate the impact of their gender mainstreaming efforts and ensure that young people’s needs are met throughout the process. The module also includes a self-evaluation activity, where participants can reflect on their learning journey and create an action plan to continue integrating gender equality into their work.
By the end of this MOOC, participants will have the tools, knowledge, and confidence to lead impactful gender equality initiatives, using the No Da Igual approach to inspire and engage young people in creating inclusive, equitable communities.
